Cadiz Social Impact Report 2007-2008

November 13, 2008

For social investment to work, it needs to be involved and connected, as well as responsible,” says Cadiz Foundation Chairman, Dan Ahern in the Cadiz Social Impact Report for 2007-2008.

The Cadiz Group is committed to being a responsible and contributing corporate citizen and has therefore partnered with GreaterGood South Africa to work towards establishing a strong foundation upon which South Africa can build and prosper as a nation. “This comes from the fact we are a business that is driven by people,” says Cadiz Group CEO, Ram Barkai. “And people are inextricably connected to their communities.”

The Cadiz Foundation supports education, welfare and skills transfer projects with a focus on uplifting children from disadvantaged communities by providing them with skilled educators and carers. Funds are also allocated to sustainable garden initiatives and housing, as well as to a discretionary fund motivated by the causes that staff are passionate about.

This report highlights how the Foundation has made its contribution to development in South Africa over the last year.
