Kommetjie Environmental Awareness Group (KEAG)

KEAG is dedicated to the preservation of the natural environment and to the upliftment of our living environment. This is achieved through the managing and running of diverse but interrelated projects that create employment and deal with real environmental needs.

In late 2009, The Cadiz Foundation donated R 240 000 to this worthy cause as part of expanding the company’s corporate social investment footprint.

Centre for Early Childhood Development

Training and equipping 100 ECD practitioners from 10 core ECD centres around Delft, Philippi East, Brown’s Farm, Crossroads and Weltevreden Valley will make an important contribution to the provision of accredited, effective early childhood development education for over 800 children.

CCS Maluti Agricultural Resource Unit

Providing impoverished families with the know-how and means to establish and maintain their own household food gardens helps to improve household food security. In addition, training four facilitators and 100 gardeners / small-scale farmers from the Bethlehem area of the Free State in agribusiness skills will equip them to expand their largely subsistence food gardens to sell excess vegetables as well as other crops, and generate a cash income through agribusiness ventures.
